Before you start

  • Have a helper hold the bumper when it comes off. Lay it on a blanket.

Steps

  1. Undo the bumper bolts

    • Remove the bolts.

  2. Detach the bumper

    • Pull it back.

  3. Remove the headlight

    • Unbolt the old light and unplug it.

  4. Fit the new headlight

    • Plug in the new light and bolt it in.

  5. Do the other side

    • Swap the second light.

  6. Reassemble

    • Refit everything.

  7. Detach the bumper

    • Take off the bumper cover.

  8. Unplug and remove it

    • Unplug the bumper parts and take the bumper off.

  9. Swap the headlight

    • Unbolt the old light and fit the new one.

  10. Refit the bumper

    • Refit it and plug everything in.

  11. Aim the headlights

    • Aim the beams against a wall.

  12. Detach the bumper

    • Take off the bumper cover.

  13. Unplug and remove it

    • Unplug the bumper parts and take the bumper off.

  14. Swap the headlight

    • Unbolt the old light and fit the new one.

  15. Refit the bumper

    • Refit it and plug everything in.

Safety first

  • Park on flat ground, set the parking brake and chock the wheels.
  • Never get under a car held up only by a jack. Use jack stands.
  • Let the engine and exhaust cool first.
  • Disconnect the battery before unplugging electrical parts.
  • Wear safety glasses.
  • If something doesn't match your car, stop and ask a shop.
